In the context of the profound and continuous transformations occurring in the energy sector—driven by the restructuring of the power industry, the introduction of competitive electricity markets, the increasing penetration of distributed generation sources, the large-scale integration of renewable energy, the development of new techniques and technologies in electricity transmission, distribution and utilization, as well as growing environmental protection requirements—the Master’s degree programme Power Systems Monitoring and Control ( Monitorizarea și Controlul Sistemelor Electroenergetice) – MS16 provides a distinct specialization. The programme is designed to train highly qualified specialists for research, technological development, engineering design, and the operation of electric power installations. In this framework, the programme aims to develop students’ ability for independent analysis, argument formulation, decision-making, and the implementation of concrete technical approaches, while also enhancing graduates’ communication skills and their capacity to integrate easily into future professional teams. The general objectives of the Master’s programme include:
opening new opportunities for graduates by increasing their mobility (initially during Master’s studies through EELISA and Erasmus+ exchanges, and subsequently during doctoral studies by continuing collaborations initiated during the Master’s programme);
integrating the Faculty and the University into the international academic and professional environment, both at student and teaching staff levels;
consolidating and further developing the knowledge and skills acquired by the target group graduates during Bachelor’s studies; thus, graduates will benefit from innovative design methodologies and advanced technical knowledge relevant both to research and development and to industrial applications;
acquiring competencies aligned with current labour market requirements;
creating professional opportunities in both research and engineering design (in academic or private sectors), as well as in execution and operational activities within industry;
increasing international mobility and collaboration within the European Higher Education Area;
strengthening scientific research capabilities for MS16 students through their involvement in various research programmes;
developing collaborative partnerships with educational institutions, research and development organisations, administrative and regulatory bodies, as well as companies active in the field of power engineering, both nationally and internationally;
enhancing interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multinational professional environment;
certifying graduates’ competencies through a Master’s diploma internationally recognised.
